To celebrate a party under the banner ‘The Last Day of Summer’ is an audacious undertaking to pull off considering it had snowed the day before in Dresden. Luckily for us Mix Mup (Erkrankung durch Musique/ Mikrodisko) from Leipzig had brought with him a zestful summer-disco-house orchestra and deco to match: Colorful cardboard palm trees, scrumptious wooden ice cream sticks and over-sized beach cocktails turned the dismal walls of Altes Wettbuero into a picture book Rimini beach setting. Add complimentary tropical fruits and the launch of our very own cocktail entitled Limonata Morosa (more soon) and you felt like Summer has never stopped. But no. It has. Honestly! It’s over now. Live with it!!! That’s it. Awright?!

To celebrate the first ‘Love Edition’ of Cosmic Dancer we reenacted a scene from the Greek tale of Amor and Psyche. Thank Zeus, almost all footage of the event has since been lost except for the clip above. An romanticized account of the happening appeared 11 years later in the Anthology ” Cosmic Dancing – The Wonder Years” by Hans Schwertner. The author states that “during the first notes of John Paul Young song ‘Love is in the Air’ balloons, suspended from the ceiling fell down on bewildered revelers, resulting in a mass kissing frenzy, that saw people of all ages and backgrounds engae with each other in archaic ways. Disconcerted bar staff had to call in riot police to separate mating lovers and avoid broken hearts or furniture.” Chief Superintendent Günther Grabowski a spokesman from the Dresden police force, said: “I am extremely disappointed that some members of The Moroders have used today as an opportunity to commit disorder and undo much of the excellent work that has been done by both the police, council and community leaders to ensure the strict seperation of sexual intercourse and beat music.

After the arrest of all members of the elusive Moroder family and the ensuing media frenzy that followed the aftermath of the event the German government, which already has comprehensive guidelines and laws surrounding the protection of youngsters from music with repetitive beats, has announced it is bringing into force a new directive aimed at vetting employees of clubs and concerts.
